Rise of the Guardians.. of 3D?

Rise of the Guardians is not your run-of-the-mill christmas movie. In fact, it isn't really even a christmas movie. Featuring your famous range of legends from Christian folklore such as Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny, Rise of the Guardians breathes new Attitude into these household names. You're in for an action-packed holiday treat with christmas around the corner. But does the 3D immerse you in a magical world, or are your robbed of all belief in 3D?

Suited for 3D? (what does this mean?)
We have a group of legendary characters uniting against evil. Expect lots of action. Expect lots of magical extravagance. Expect lots of fun. The story, action, and beautiful scenes beg for 3D. It would be a shame if Rise of the Guardians wasn't made in 3D!

Score: 5/5

Filmed for 3D? (what does this mean?)
The filmmakers definitely put a lot of thought into the 3D for this movie. Almost every aspect of the movie seemed to accommodate 3D - the camera angles, the scenery, the action sequences. No post-conversion hack job here!

Score: 5/5

Closed Window Experience (what does this mean?)
The world behind the screen had clear depth as the audience are immersed and sometimes even lost in the magical world that Rise of the Guardians brings to us. It is sometimes easy to forget where you are if you're really glued to the screen. It is easy to blame the story and cinematography for this. But the 3D definitely adds the extra dimension!

Score: 5/5

Open Window Experience (what does this mean?)
It is very easy for filmmakers to overlook this aspect of 3D. Some filmmakers feel that it is gimmicky and distracts people from the story. But Rise of the Guardians ensures people enjoy this aspect of 3D that allows images to cross the boundary of movie and real life. It may not have been much, but definitely enough to please the audience. The chinese subtitles kill some of these 3D effects though.

Score: 3/5

The Naked-Eye Test (what does this mean?)
The 3D glasses had their life purpose fulfilled with Rise of the Guardians. Most of the movie is blur without the 3D glasses. Even when some scenes looked clear without the 3D glasses, with the 3D glasses on, you can make out the depth created in the background. 3D glasses everywhere salute you!

Score: 5/5

Final Score: 23/25

Final Verdict
Don't miss this opportunity to immerse yourself in a magical experience that boasts beautiful scenery and lots of action. You may not believe in Santa Claus, Jack Frost, or the Tooth Fairy, but believe my review!

Enough from me! Would YOU recommend watching this movie in 3D?
