Suited for 3D? (what does this mean?)
Find me one person who can honestly say that Spiderman is not a movie for 3D! I dare you! I double dare you! The movie was screaming out to be made in 3D. Imagine swinging along with Spiderman into the depths of the 3D world behind the movie screen. Imagine being right there in the thick of the action, webs shooting out at you, debris flying out of the screen. God sent.

Filmed for 3D? (what does this mean?)
This movie was clearly shot in 2D for majority of the movie
and later converted into 3D. Very few shots were planned for 3D, and shot in 3D. These were a few
action scenes that were just wrong for 3D. The 3D effect was minimal as the
scenes were just too fast paced and choppy, disallowing the eyes time to
register the 3D effect in one scene before going to the next. Planning and
effort were very poor for a major movie that was hyped up for its 3D!
Score: 2/5
Closed Window Experience (what does this mean?)
The closed window experience although present, was
disappointing. There was some depth when looking down from the great heights of
the iconic New York skyscrapers. But these were small parts of the movie,
perhaps only a third of the movie. Normal, non-action, scenes looked
practically 2D. Most of which are plain post-conversion hack-jobs, which gave
only a small bit of depth to the 3D image.
Score: 3/5
Open Window Experience (what does this mean?)
So… How much of the action came out of the screen? Almost
nothing. There were very few scenes, making up a total of maybe 5 to 10 minutes
where something feels like it may have come out at you. But out of the 136
minutes we have to sit through? Are you kidding me? This is why people want
the 3D experience! To be immersed in the world where a superhero exists! To
feel like you are smack in the middle of the action! Okay, melodrama over.
Score: 2/5
Naked Eye Test (what does this mean?)
This is proof of the amazing con job! I took my 3D glasses
off many times during the movie. After a while, I just felt like putting them
aside. There were not many scenes that required the use of the 3D glasses. The
image was hardly blur for most of the movie. There was little need for 3D
glasses to correct the image and give the audience the 3D effect.

Final verdict
There were definitely a few parts that looked good in 3D and
gave users what they came for. But this was just a fraction of the 136 minutes
you have to sit through. For everything else, save your mastercard!
Enough from me! Would YOU recommend watching this movie in 3D?
